I had a realization today about how important art was to me and the power it has had on me to grow as a person. I realized that I had the notion that I have to have all these materials in order to create art but in reality, I can make it with everything that I have now. And I thought that my art had to be a certain way and that It had to be on a canvas everytime I made it. But In reality, all I need was a sketchbook and a pen. I love being able to just flow onto a page and reflect my innermost thoughts. It's very liberating to be able to just do something with nothing else matters at that very point in time. I feel almost like I was meant to do that exact thing at that very moment. I feel that when I do create that art in whatever form it is I'm able to connect to something that bigger than myself. ( Speaking of flow states I need to reread Stealing Fire) . I also realized today that I shouldn't let just anyone's opinion affect my art. I feel like If I do that I end up being taken away from my own art and I end up just being a servant for other people instead of actually creating art from within me. I feel like there is this unlimited well of creative energy inside of me that just requires constant effort & discipline to figure out. Anyways that my reflection today and my construction of my philosophy around my art.
Stay Humble, Stay Blessed
